Dear Product or Marketing Manager:

Along with millions of others, we at Flow Research have felt the impact of our recent national tragedy.  I was attending the ISA show in Houston on September 11, and had to rent a car and drive the 1900 miles back to Boston.  It is sad that such an excellent show was cut short by these senseless acts.  Our hearts go out to those most directly affected by these tragic events.

Despite the recent events, we believe it is important to continue with our work.  In that context, I have very exciting news.  The entire series of New Technology flowmeter studies is now complete!  The following studies are finished, and we have already shipped a number of copies:

·        Volume I: The Market for Coriolis Flowmeters Worldwide

·        Volume II: The Market for Magnetic Flowmeters Worldwide

·        Volume III: The Market for Ultrasonic Flowmeters Worldwide

·        Volume IV: The Market for Vortex Flowmeters Worldwide

·        Volume V: The Market for New Technology Flowmeters Worldwide

·        Volume VI: Worldwide Survey of Flowmeter Users

One unique feature of these studies is that they were all researched together.  Other research companies do one study at a time, meaning that the data in different studies may not be consistent.  Because these studies were done simultaneously, they use consistent definitions and terminology.  Thus, these studies form a complete and systematic analysis of the New Technology flowmeter market worldwide.

Volume I, The Market for Coriolis Flowmeters Worldwide, analyzes the fast-growing Coriolis flowmeter market.  Since their introduction in 1977, Coriolis meter sales have grown rapidly, and now are exceeded in revenues only by magnetic flowmeters.  This study includes complete market size and market share information for Coriolis flowmeters by geographic region.  Many users who are looking for higher accuracy are selecting Coriolis meters.  In fact, Coriolis are the most accurate flowmeter available today.

Here are some of the segments included in this comprehensive study:

·        Straight tube vs. Bent Tube

·        Smart vs. Conventional

·        Liquid vs. Gas vs. Steam

·        Communication Protocols (HART, Foundation Fieldbus, Profibus, Serial, Other)

·        Line Size

·        Industry

Volume IV, The Market for Vortex Flowmeters Worldwide, includes a complete look at the vortex flowmeter market.  New developments in vortex flowmeters include the increased popularity of multivariable flowmeters and greater use of vortex meters to measure the flow of gases and steams.  While vortex meters are not growing as fast as ultrasonic or Coriolis meters, they are still not well understood by many users.  Vortex meters have good potential for future growth, especially as more users become familiar with the technology.  Suppliers in recent products have adequately addressed many of the earlier issues relating to vibration.

Here is some of the segmentation included in this exciting study:

·        Multivariable vs. Smart vs. Conventional

·        Wafer vs. Flanged vs. Other (Insertion)

·        Liquid vs. Steam vs. Gas

·        Communication Protocols (HART, Foundation Fieldbus, Profibus, Serial, Other)

·        Industry

If you want to take an in-depth look at individual markets, then Volumes I to IV are for you.  These studies are the most comprehensive available anywhere.  Here’s why:

·        We interviewed and profiled every supplier we could find, not just the leaders.   The ultrasonic study has 49 company profiles, and the magnetic flow study has 36 company profiles.  There are 14 profiles in the Coriolis study and 15 in the vortex study.

·        We talked to companies all over the world, in places like Japan, Singapore, Germany, Italy, France, Lithuania, China, Taiwan, Sweden, and many other countries.

·        These studies are not “updates” of previous studies; they are brand new studies with completely original information.  We don’t fill our studies with “canned” or recycled text.

·        Instead of just talking to suppliers, we interviewed 300 users in Asia, Europe, and North America, and used their responses to make more accurate forecasts.

·        Each study includes a product analysis for each supplier, containing a summary, photos, and specs for their products.  Chapter Three of each study provides an overview with detailed specs of all products offered worldwide for the type of flowmeter in question.

If you would like more information on this family of studies, please fill out the attached form and fax it back to us at 781-224-7552.  Or you can call us at 781-245-3200, or email me at jesse@flowresearch.com.  Visit our website at www.flowresearch.com for descriptions of each study and an order form.  Please note that our partner, Ducker Research Company, publishes these studies, and you can order directly from them.  See the order form for more details.

These studies are simply the best research available today on the worldwide flowmeter market.  Don’t miss your chance to benefit from more than a full year of research, and the thousands of hours we put into these projects.  Call or write us today for further information!

Overview of Worldflow™ Studies

What’s in these studies?  Here’s an outline of volumes I through IV.  These are the individual studies covering Coriolis, Magnetic, Ultrasonic, and Vortex flowmeters worldwide:

Chapter One:                Executive Summary

Chapter Two:               Introduction and Methodology

Chapter Three:             Product and Technology Analysis

Chapter Four:               Market Size and Forecast through 2005

Chapter Five:                Market Shares by Region and Industry

Chapter Six:                 Strategies for Success

Chapter Seven: Company Profiles

Appendix A:                 Worldwide Flowmeter Study Proposal

Appendix B:                 Supplier Input Form

Appendix C:                 End-user Questionnaire (14-page form used for end-user survey)

Appendix D:                 Directory of Flowmeter Suppliers (Lists 252 suppliers & contact info.)

Chapter One-Executive Summary: Concisely presents the main conclusions of the study.

Chapter Two-Introduction: Presents the methodology and key definitions of terms used in the study.  Defines the countries included in the five geographic regions used: North America, Europe, Japan, Asia without Japan, and Rest of World.

Chapter Three-Product and Technology Analysis: Presents the theory of operation of the flowmeter in question (Coriolis, magnetic, ultrasonic, or vortex).  Provides a detailed analysis of the products by model name.  Specs listed include applications, diameter range, connection type, flow range, temperature range, approvals, pressure range, and flowtube material.  This is a new feature in these studies, and provides a complete overview of the available products on the market worldwide from virtually every supplier.

Chapter Four-Market Size and Forecast Through 2005:  By compiling together the sales data from the individual companies contacted, we have been able to determine actual market size.  Market is forecast by geographic region, and in terms of various market segments specific to each type of meter.  This chapter tells you the dollar amount of each type of flowmeter sold in each geographic region, and the number of units sold.

Chapter Five-Market Shares by Region and by Industry:  Provides market share analysis for each type of flowmeter by geographic region and by industry.  Industries covered include oil & gas, refining, chemical, food & beverage, pulp & paper, pharmaceutical, metals & mining, power, water & wastewater, and other.

Chapter Six-Strategies for Success: Contains strategies that flowmeter suppliers can use to gain market share, and to expand their presence in the market.

Chapter Seven-Company Profiles: Contains detailed information on the suppliers of the type of flowmeter in question.  Includes detailed information on company history and the products supplied by each company.
