This study is nothing short of revolutionary. It will forever change the way the flowmeter market is viewed. Instead of seeing the DP flowmeter market as flat to declining, it is clear from this study that the DP flowmeter market is experiencing significant growth. And instead of a market that is outpaced by magnetic and Coriolis flowmeters, the DP flowmeter market is revealed as the largest flowmeter market in terms of revenues. Don't miss your chance to be among the first to benefit from this groundbreaking research!
This study is two studies in one. To complete the study, we separately researched the DP flow transmitter market and the primary elements market. We then put these two together into a picture of the DP flowmeter market. The resulting study separately provides market data on both DP flow transmitters and primary elements, then combines them in a single chapter that, for the first time, reveals the size of the DP flowmeter market.
For companies that prefer a more in-depth analysis of either DP flow transmitters or primary elements, we are also making these portions of the study available separately. We have then added even more segmentation to create two additional "twin" studies: one on DP flow transmitters and one on primary elements.
Original Study: The World Market for DP Flowmeters and Primary Elements
|Two additional studies that provide more segmentation:|
Flow Research has completed a study of the worldwide DP flowmeter and primary element market. One main goal of this study was to arrive at the true value of the DP flowmeter market by taking into account the value of DP transmitters and primary elements. In the past, Flow Research and some other research companies have identified the value of the DP flowmeter market with the value of the market for DP transmitters used for flow. While this is a major part of the total picture, it is not the total picture. By including the value of primary elements, we have determined the true value of the DP flowmeter market.
Another goal of this study was to determine to what extent DP flowmeters are holding their own with respect to other flow technologies. DP flowmeters still have a very large installed base, and end-users are still inclined to replace like with like unless they’ve had a problem with the meters. DP flowmeter manufacturers are responding to market changes with innovations like the ProBar and ProPlate, with multivariable transmitters, and with high-tier pressure transmitters with enhanced stability and accuracy. These innovations are helping DP flow technology hold its own against the onslaught of new-technology flowmeters.
So far most of the innovations seem to be on the side of the pressure transmitters rather than on the side of the primary elements. However, there are companies such as Primary Flow Signal and Preso Meter (now part of Racine Federated) that have developed proprietary versions of Venturi, Pitot tube, and wedge meters. Many different types of orifice plates have been developed, and perhaps there is room for more research here. This study identifies areas of research in developing and improving primary elements.
This study includes market size in dollars and units for DP flowmeters worldwide and by geographic region. DP flowmeters are divided into the following types:
Market shares are provided for DP flow transmitters worldwide and by geographic region. Market shares are also provided for multivariable and single variable DP flow transmitters.
Primary elements are segmented as follows:
Data provided on primary elements includes the following:
The study also provides market shares for suppliers of primary elements by geographic region, and market shares for suppliers of orifice measuring points, Pitot tubes, Venturi tubes, flow nozzles, and wedge elements.
The data developed in this study includes total revenues and unit sales by geographic region, and average selling prices for DP flowmeters. Other data includes the following:
Flow Research has completed a series of eleven studies that include all types of flowmeters. Information about these studies is at http://www.flowresearch.com/flow.htm. This study should be of special interest to any manufacturer of DP flow transmitters and primary elements, and to users and specifiers of DP transmitter and primary elements.
