Lake George

Lake George is a beautiful lake, located along Route 87 in upstate New York. It is about 1 hour north of Albany. Extending more than 30 miles in length, the lake feature features extraordinary scenery. You can cruise the lake onboard the Mine-Ha-Ha, a steam-powered paddleboat, or enjoy a brunch onboard the Lac du Saint Sacrament. These pictures we taken in September 2003 during a Lake George cruise. Shown below are the Mine-Ha-Ha (left), and onboard the Lac du Saint Sacrement (right). At the bottom of the page are several pictures of the paddlewheel on the Mine-Ha-Ha. Note that this paddlewheel device is not measuring flow (like a paddlewheel flowmeter), but actually creating it!
