Announcing Worldflow™
The Dawn of a New
Era in Market Research
Flow Research and Ducker Worldwide are proud to announce the release of six new studies:
· Volume I: The World Market for Coriolis Flowmeters
· Volume II: The World Market for Magnetic Flowmeters
· Volume III: The World Market for Ultrasonic Flowmeters
· Volume IV: The World Market for Vortex Flowmeters
· Volume V: The World Market for New Technology Flowmeters
· Volume VI: Worldwide Survey of Flowmeter Users
Instead of just doing a
handful of interviews with the top suppliers, we’ve contacted every single
supplier we could identify worldwide. We’ve identified 53 suppliers of ultrasonic flowmeters and 33
magnetic flowmeter suppliers. And we’ve
done over 200 supplier interviews for Worldflow™.
Instead of just talking to suppliers, we interviewed users. But we didn’t just interview users in the US and generalize to the world; we interviewed 297 users in the US, Canada, France, Germany, the UK, Japan, China, and Singapore. We took our 16-page questionnaire and did 297 interviews by phone in the native language to find out what users in every region of the world are thinking and planning when it comes to flowmeters.
Instead of spending three months updating previous studies, we spent ten months doing the research and writing six brand new studies. These studies build on available data going back to
1993. Because we’ve been tracking the market for eight years, we know the track record of each type of flowmeter we are studying. We used this perspective to create informed forecasts that take the past performance of each flowmeter type into account.
Why did we do this research? We wanted
to find the answers to some very important questions about the worldwide
flowmeter market. Here is some of the
information we have uncovered on Coriolis, ultrasonic, vortex, magnetic, and DP
flowmeters:
·
Market size worldwide
and by region
·
The leading suppliers
for each type of flowmeter by region
·
Which is the
fastest-growing flowmeter
·
How users decide what
flowmeter to use
·
What flowmeters the
faster growing meters are replacing
·
Differences in
flowmeter use by geographic region
·
The prospects for
Foundation Fieldbus and Profibus in the US, Europe, and Asia
Our project team has brought
many years of experience to bear on these studies.

Chapter One: Executive Summary
Chapter Two: Introduction
Chapter Three: Product and Technology Analysis
Chapter Four: Market Size and Forecast through 2005
Chapter Five: Market Shares by Region and Industry
Chapter Six: Strategies for Success
Chapter Seven: Company Profiles
Appendix A: Worldwide Flowmeter Study Proposal
Appendix B: Supplier Input Form
Appendix C: End-user Questionnaire (16-page form used for end-user survey)
Appendix D: Directory of Flowmeter Suppliers (Lists 252 suppliers & contact info.)
Chapter One-Executive Summary: Concisely presents the main conclusions of the study.
Chapter Two-Introduction: Presents the methodology and key definitions of terms used in the study. Defines the countries included in the five geographic regions used: North America, Europe, Japan, Asia without Japan, and Rest of World.
Chapter Three-Product and Technology Analysis: Presents the theory of operation of the flowmeter in question (Coriolis, magnetic, ultrasonic, or vortex). Provides a detailed analysis of the products by model name. Specs listed include applications, diameter range, connection type, flow range, temperature range, approvals, pressure range, and flowtube material. This is a new feature in these studies, and provides a complete overview of the available products on the market.
Chapter Four-Market Size and Forecast Through 2005: By compiling together the sales data
from the individual companies contacted, we have been able to determine actual
market size. Market is forecast by
geographic region, and in terms of various market segments specific to each
type of meter. This chapter tells
you the dollar amount of each type of flowmeter sold in each geographic region,
and the number of units sold.
Chapter Five-Market Shares by Region and by Industry: Provide market share analysis for each type of flowmeter by geographic region and by industry. Industries covered include oil & gas, refining, chemical, food & beverage, pulp & paper, pharmaceutical, metals & mining, power, water & wastewater, and other.
Chapter Six-Strategies for Success: Contains strategies that flowmeter suppliers can use to gain market share, and to expand their presence in the market.
Chapter Seven-Company Profiles: Contains detailed information on the suppliers of the type of flowmeter in question. Includes detailed information on company history and the products supplied by each company.

Flow Research is conducting a series of studies on the worldwide flowmeter market. In cooperation with Ducker Worldwide, we are publishing a series of studies on Coriolis, magnetic, ultrasonic, vortex, and DP flowmeters. All studies will be available in April 2001, and are part of a 12-volume series of flowmeter studies called Worldflow™. Please let us know which of these studies you would like more detailed information on.

Ducker Research Company, Inc., together with Flow Research, is publishing a new series of studies on the worldwide flowmeter market. The series is called Worldflow™, and it contains 12 studies. The first six studies will be available for shipping in June 2001, and they are as follows:
Volume I: The World Market for Coriolis Flowmeters
Volume II: The World Market for Magnetic Flowmeters
Volume III: The World Market for Ultrasonic Flowmeters
Volume IV: The World Market for Vortex Flowmeters
Volume V: The World Market for New Technology Flowmeters
Volume VI: Worldwide Survey of Flowmeter Users
This is the most comprehensive look ever taken at the worldwide flowmeter market. The research has been ongoing since June 2000. As part of the research, we conducted over 200 supplier interviews and made 27 onsite company visits. These visits help provide in-depth analysis of flowmeter products, as well as insight into the internal structure of many companies. Our project team of six people, not including the many people involved in conducting the end-user surveys, has worked for thousands of hours to bring these completely up-to-date studies to you.
Each individual study is complete with market size, market shares, strategies for success, and company profiles. Volume V, the New Technology study, compares the market sizes and growth rates of Coriolis, magnetic, ultrasonic, and vortex flowmeters. It also includes data on differential pressure (DP) flowmeters and multivariable flowmeters.
Volume VI, our Worldwide Survey of Flowmeter Users, gives the results of interviews with 300 flowmeter users worldwide: 100 in North America, 100 in Europe, and 97 in Asia. We translated our 16-page questionnaire into French, German, Japanese, and Chinese to do these interviews. All interviews were conducted by phone. This is an unprecedented effort to determine the views and purchasing plans of flowmeter users worldwide.
As we have in the past, we are offering a discount of $400 on each study to participants in the studies. This discount applies to Volumes I through V. We are offering this discount in appreciation to the many flowmeter companies who have helped make these studies possible by providing information for the studies. We are the only market research company we know of who offers this type of recognition to companies for participating in the studies. These studies are not possible without your help and cooperation.
The following page contains details on the purchase of these studies. If you have a question about the total amount of your order, let us know which studies you want and we will send you a quotation for the studies you are interested in.
